The exuberance of Himalayan summers is reflected in Shimla’s annual Summer Festival, held usually in June. The week long festival is a time of song and dance, with performances by Bollywood as well as folk artists. Other events include fashion shows, cookery shows and even baby shows.
During winters, Shimla hosts an ice skating carnival, home as it is to the only natural ice-rink in India. There is also a winter sports festival during this season.
