You are in for a disappointment if you go to Shimla expecting traditional Himachali cuisine or some concoctions from the days of the Raj. The restaurants cater mainly to tourists from Northern India, and the cuisine is basically of the Butter Chicken-Dosa-Manchurian variety. Even so, the restaurants are all pervasive and you will not be at a loss for variety. Choose from fast food restaurants, bakeries and ice cream parlours lining the Mall, dhabas at the bazaar and snack bars near the famous Gaiety theatre. The Domino's Pizza outlet is usually empty but the Barista on the Mall Road draws crowds.
