Local Transport
The general mode of transport are cabs in the area. But in the backwaters, travel by the traditional method of kettu vallam, local boats. These are made without any joint, bound by coconut coir and oiled with fish oil. Kettu Valams were originally used for carrying cargo but now have been innovatively transformed into house boats.
