Famous for its havelis and handicrafts, Samode Palace is today a heritage resort-turned-hotel.
Bird Sanctuaries & National Parks
The two famous parks in Rajathan are the Bharatpur Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary and the Ranthambore National Park, where you would be able to view tigers from close quarters. The Jamwa Ramgarh, former hunting lodge of the royal family of Jaipur overlooks a huge reservoir, Ramgarh Lake. Today it has been converted into a luxury heritage hotel. The lake itself is home to flocks of different species of ducks and you must particularly visit it during the monsoons, when it is full to the brim. You can also enjoy long rambling walks and pay a visit to the temple of Jamwa Mata and the ruins of an old fort.
Chokhi Dhani (12 km)
On Tonk Road, this village resort is a mirror of Rajasthani culture. Started as part of the ambiance for a restaurant, it transforms to an authentic symbol of ethnic village life in the evenings with local performers, camel rides and a sumptuous Rajasthani fare on offer.
