Considered as a heaven for nature enthusiasts and birdwatchers, Kailana Lake in Jodhpur is among the most-visited lakes in the state of Rajasthan. This artificial lake, sprawling over an area of 84 sq km, was constructed in 1872 by the then Prime Minister of Jodhpur, Kalyan Singh. In the past, the region was home to wild bear, and served as a hunting ground for kings and other royal members.
The location of this lake serves as a perfect picnic spot and offers remarkable views of the sunrise and sunset. During these hours, the sky resembles a canvas splattered with beautiful rainbow colours. Along with soaking in the natural beauty of the lake, visitors can enjoy boating here.
