New Jalpaiguri Railway Station
Jalpaiguri is an important town in the Indian state of West Bengal. Situated 47 km southeast of Silguri, Jalpaiguri is the divisional headquarters of the North Bengal region. Jalpaiguri is famous for its rich culture and old tradition of folk music and dance. Set along the banks of River Karala, the town is known as a major hub of tea industry for many decades. Jalpaiguri is home to New Jalpaiguri railway station, which is served by the world famous Darjeeling Himalayan Railways. The toy train to Darjeeling passes through lush tea gardens, lofty picturesque mountains and offers spectacular views en-route.
