- Chandigarh is a union territory of India
and also serves as the joint capital of the states
of Punjab and Haryana. Situated on the foot of
Shivalik hill ranges, Chandigarh is known across

is the first planned city of India, designed by
the French architect Le Corbusier and his team.

Station Details Chandigarh railway
station is served by the Northern Railways. The
railway station is situated in Sector 17, 8 km
south-west of the city centre. Chandigarh
railway station is connected by
several trains with Delhi and other parts of the
country. Shatabdi Express and Himalayan Queen Express
are two important trains running between Delhi
and Chandigarh. Other important train connections
to Chandigarh are Kalka Howrah Mail and Inter
City Express. From the railway station city transport
buses are available to reach the main city. Auto-rickshaws
and cycle-rickshaws are available at the railway
station for local transportation.
