• For those undertaking a cruise, the cruise confirmation along with the itinerary for each individual Passenger is required.
• Processing time is as follows: Applications submitted (Mon to Fri) to VFS 0800 to 1100 hrs (Travel Agents) & 0800 to 1300 hrs (Individual Applicants). This is issued only for Family Visits. Travel Agents submitting more than 24 applications should bear a letter from the Organizers, a common itinerary, a single PNR for travel on the same flight and on the same date, in order to avail Group Submission Rates.

For others this visa can be issued to the Spouse, Children, Parents, Brothers and Sisters. Other relatives will be treated on a per case basis.

Transit visas are issued to foreigners passing through Thailand. Application procedures are the same as for tourist visas, but the period of stay and visa fees differ. On arrival, holders of transit visas are admitted for 30 days in the kingdom and the stay may be extended by another 30 days (as with tourist visas, citizens of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India , Pakistan, Iran, Nigeria, Togo, and Uganda are granted extensions of only 7 days). If there are strong reasons, long term extensions can be obtained as for tourist visas, but application for a work permit is not possible. Transit visas may be changed to non-immigrant visas if need arises.

A Transit Visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter Thailand for any of the following purposes:

1. Category TS (Transit): to travel in transit through Thailand in order to proceed to the country of destination or to re-enter the applicant's own country.
2. Category S (Sports): To participate in sports activities.
3. Category C (Conveyance): To the person in charge or crew of a conveyance coming to a port, station or area in Thailand.

• Letter of invitation stating the application's participation in sports activities in the Thailand.

For Sports Category - "S":

• Same requirements as above point i.e. from Travel Documents and Pictures, Finance Confirmation.
• Letter of invitation stating application's participation in sports event in the Kingdom.

For Crew Category - "C":

• Same requirements as above point i.e. from Travel Documents and Pictures, Finance Confirmation.
• Letter from the Airlines.

• The Applicant should have a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of expiry of the desired visa with two blank pages.
• Two visa forms (photocopy allowed).
• Two recent (not older than 6 months) passport-size color photographs taken against a white or light blue background (35 x 45 mm). The photographs should be clear and of good quality, and should be printed on normal photographic paper. It should be pasted on the visa form and not stapled. Applications submitted with scanned photographs will be refused by The Royal Thai Embassy and the visa fees will not be refunded.
• Confirmed onward/ return ticket.
• Visa for next destination of travel.
• Funds 20,000 Baht per Applicant or 40,000 Baht per family is essential.
• Bank Statement (personal) for the last six (6) months.
• Hotel confirmation required, for the period of stay.
• For those undertaking a cruise, the cruise confirmation along with the itinerary for each individual Passenger is required.
• Processing time is as follows: Applications submitted to VFS before 10 am can be collected the next day between 12 pm to 4 pm. For applications submitted after 12 pm the collection will be on the 3rd day.
• For Applicants in Chennai and Bangalore, the Bank Draft should be in favor of "The Royal Thai Consulate General", payable in Chennai.
• All travel agents and representatives need to carry an letter of authority from the applicants for the submission of applications. The applications without the authority letter from Applicants will not be accepted.

• Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months.

• Copy of certificate/ License from Thai government official to establish school or education institute and permission for teaching activity.
• For the case of foreign monk who wishes to pursue a study in religion field with Thai religious institution, these must be letter of approval from the office of the National Buddhism.

• 500 USD endorsement needs to be done on the passport.
• Bank Statement (personal) for the last six (6) months.
• Hotel confirmation required, for the period of stay.
• For Applicants in Chennai and Bangalore, the Bank Draft should be in favor of "The Royal Thai Consulate General", payable in Chennai.

• A Letter of Admission to the School or University in Thailand is also needed.
• Proof of registration of the School or University in Thailand.
• Evidence of funds (expenses for hotel/ dormitory, course fees etc) is mandatory.
• Confirmed onward/ return ticket.
• Hotel confirmation required, for the period of stay.
• Bank Statement (personal) for the last six (6) months.
• Certificates showing that the last course of Study in the previous year/ s has been successfully completed (school leaving certificate/ degree certificate).
• For Applicants in Chennai and Bangalore, the Bank Draft should be in favor of "The Royal Thai Consulate General", payable in Chennai.

• The Income Tax Returns and Registration Papers of the Thai Company/ Organization are also needed.
• The registration to attend the Seminar/ Meeting along with a detailed itinerary must be provided.
• Confirmed onward/ return ticket.
• Proof of Hotel Reservations/ accommodation is a must.

All the above mentioned documents are necessary for this visa. Also required are:

• An application form completed in full and signed by applicant.
• Copy of Passport Bio and Visa pages.
• A passport valid for traveling to Thailand with sufficient remaining validity.
• Two passport-sized photographs (3.5 X 4.5 cm) taken within the previous 6 months.
• National Identity Card, Residence documentation or valid proof of identity.
• A letter from the employer giving details of the applicant’s position, length of employment, salary and purpose of the visit(s) to Thailand. If the applicant is self-employed, he or she must provide documentation of his or her business undertaking such as business registration and details of business operation.
• Copies of correspondence with business partners in Thailand.
• A letter of Invitation from trading or associated partners/ companies in Thailand.
• Confirmed Air ticket (Mandatory for the applicants apply at Chennai, Bangalore, Cochin & Hyderabad)
• Corporate documents of associated partners/ companies in Thailand such as:
• Business registration and business license.
• List of shareholders.
• Company profile.
• Details of business operation.
• Map indicating location of the company
• Balance sheet, statement of Income Tax and Business Tax (Por Ngor Dor 50 and Por Ngor Dor 30) af the latest year.
• Value-added tax registration (Pro Ngor Dor 20).
• A letter of recommendation from previous employer or business associations of which the applicant is member.
• 500USD endorsement needs to be done on the passport.
• If required, you may be requested to bring additional documents by The Royal Thai Embassy / Consulate.
• The issuance of visa is at discretion of the consular officer.

This is issued only for Family Visits. In case of a Student studying in Thailand this category of visa can be issued only for the Mother. It can be granted to the Father only if the Mother is deceased.

For others this visa can be issued to the Spouse, Children, Parents, Brothers and Sisters. Other relatives will be treated on a per case basis.

Documents required are as follows:

• Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months.
• Visa Application Form completely filled out.
• Two recent photographs of the applicant (3.5 X 4.5 cm).
• Invitation letter from company/ organization which the spouse/ parent is working with.
• Spouse’s copy of Work Permit or equivalents (in case working with international organization).
• Spouse’s copy of passport (at least first page, visa page, extended stay permission page).
• Certificate of marriage (Spouse).
• Birth Certificate (Child).
• Letter of confirm relationship from Indian Embassy or Indian authority (parent).
• Thai Company (Employer)’s updated business certificate and relevant documents to confirm is active status.
• In case spouse is working with company under BOI promotion, the official letter from BOI to confirm dependant status and company’s invitation letter are sufficient.
• Confirmed onward/ return ticket.
• Proof of Hotel Reservations/ accommodation is a must.
• Bank Statement (personal) for the last six (6) months.
• 500USD endorsement needs to be done on the passport.

A Transit Visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter Thailand for any of the following purposes:

1> Category TS (Transit): to travel in transit through Thailand in order to proceed to the country of destination or to re-enter the applicant's own country

3> Category C (Conveyance): To the person in charge or crew of a conveyance coming to a port, station or area in Thailand

• Copy of Passport of the Biodata pages and Visa Pages.
• Two visa application Forms completely filled out.
• Two recent photograph of the applicant (3.5 X 4.5 cm)
• Instrument of means of transportation (Confirmed plane ticket, paid in full).
• Evidence of adequate finance (20,000 Baht per person or 40,000 Baht per family).
• 500 USD endorsement needs to be done on the passport.
• Visa of a third country in a passport or travel document.
• Letter of invitation to participate in sports (Category 'S')
• Proof of Hotel Reservations/ accommodation is a must.
• Bank Statement (personal) for the last six (6) months.
• Confirmed onward/ return ticket.
• For those undertaking a cruise, the cruise confirmation along with the itinerary for each individual Passenger is required.
• Chennai applicants in addition to the above mentioned documents have to carry self attested photocopy of application form and all other originals.
