(2) Visa Notification issued by an authorized unit in China (original).

(B) Foreign technical personnel who come to China for offshore petroleum operations should provide, a 'Letter of Invitation to Foreigners for Offshore Petroleum Operations in China' issued by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (original).

(C) Chief Representative or representative of foreign offices resident in China should provide:
(1) The Registration Certificate of Resident Representative Office of Foreign (Regional) Enterprises issued by the concerned administrative department of industry and commerce; or an Approval Document for the Resident Representative Offices of Foreign Enterprises issued by concerned commercial departments.
(2) Visa notification issued by an authorized unit in China (original).

(D) Personnel who come to China to implement aid or technical cooperative projects should provide:
(1) Bilateral or multilateral agreement between the Chinese Government and foreign government or international organization, for cooperation and exchange;
(2) Visa notification issued by an authorized unit in China (original).

(E) Personnel who come to China for commercial performance should provide:
(1) Approval document (also copy) issued by the Ministry of Culture or the Cultural Department of related province, autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government;
(2) Visa notification issued by the Ministry of Culture or the foreign affairs office of related province, autonomous region and municipality directly under the Central Government.

(F) Personnel other than those mentioned above should provide:
(1) The Employment Permit for Foreigners issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
(2) Visa notification issued by an authorized unit in China (original).

(G) Accompanying family dependents of personnel working in China should provide related note, letter or visa notification issued by an authorized unit or documents proving their status as dependents.

Z-visa is usually issued with a single entry, valid for 3 months and with no duration of stay (i.e. 000 day of stay). Holders of work visa should go through the formalities for a residence permit at a local public security bureau within 30 days after entry into China, to avoid illegal stay in China. The period of validity of the residence permit is its holder's duration of stay in China.

Consular officers decide on the visa's period of validity, duration of stay and number of entries in light of China's laws and regulations.

• Company/Travel agency profile.
• Full Name and the Employee ID of the agent/representative.
• Details of the applicants (Full name and Passport number).
• Authorized signatory's signature, designation and the stamp of the company/travel agency.
• Confirmed onward/ return air ticket.
• Indian Seamen traveling on duty must hold Letter of Guarantee from the Shipping Company and the Seamen Book.
• A letter from the Shipping Agent stating particulars of the Seamen, date and port of joining the ship and a fax/ telex from the Shipping Agent in China.
• Visa is valid for 3 months, with a maximum stay of 7 days.

Student Visa (X-visa) is issued to a foreign citizen who comes to China for the purpose of study for a period of six or more months. Those intending to study in China for less than six months should apply for a business visa (F-visa).

• Original passport which has more than 18 months left before it expires from the date of application for a visa and minimum 2 blank visa pages.
• One completed Visa Application Form (e-Form / Download):

• Visa Application for Study in China (Form JW-201 or Form JW-202, original and copy).
• Original covering letter, with a Company Seal, from the Applicant company or Organization, addressed to The Visa Officer, Embassy of the People's Republic of China, New Delhi - 110 021.
• All the Travel Agents/ Representatives need to provide the original Authority Letter on the letter head of their Travel Agency/ Company along with each application:
• Company/Travel agency profile.
• Full Name and the Employee ID of the agent/representative.
• Details of the applicants (Full name and Passport number).
• Authorized signatory's signature, designation and the stamp of the company/travel agency.
• Covering letter from the Applicant's recently graduated School, University or by the Applicant himself/ herself.
• "Physical Examination Record for Foreigner", not more than 6 months old, issued by a Doctor from a Government Hospital. The photo on the Record should be stamped by the hospital.
• Photocopy of the personal data page of Applicant's passport.
• Consular officers may request an applicant to provide additional supporting documents when called for. The applicant should provide this as soon as possible.

Work Visa (Z-visa) is issued to a foreign citizen who is to take up a post or employment in China and his or her accompanying family members, or to give commercial performances in China.

• Original passport which has more than 6 months left before it expires from the date of application and minimum 2 blank visa pages (18 months and more left if intended stay in China is more than one year).
• One completed Visa Application Form (e-Form / Download):
• All the items on the application form should be completed neatly with genuine information.
• If the applicant has a Chinese name, the Chinese name should be filled in; false or incomplete information and illegible characters may lead to refusal of a visa.

• Employment Approval Documents required:


(A) Foreigners who come to China to take up employment as experts, scholars, teachers, managerial personnel and as personnel working in related state or local organizations should provide:
(1) Confirmation Letter of Retaining Foreign Experts issued by the State Bureau of Foreign Experts (original).
(2) Visa Notification issued by an authorized unit in China (original).

(B) Foreign technical personnel who come to China for offshore petroleum operations should provide, a 'Letter of Invitation to Foreigners for Offshore Petroleum Operations in China' issued by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (original).

(C) Chief Representative or representative of foreign offices resident in China should provide:
(1) The Registration Certificate of Resident Representative Office of Foreign (Regional) Enterprises issued by the concerned administrative department of industry and commerce; or an Approval Document for the Resident Representative Offices of Foreign Enterprises issued by concerned commercial departments.
(2) Visa notification issued by an authorized unit in China (original).

(D) Personnel who come to China to implement aid or technical cooperative projects should provide:
(1) Bilateral or multilateral agreement between the Chinese Government and foreign government or international organization, for cooperation and exchange;
(2) Visa notification issued by an authorized unit in China (original).

(E) Personnel who come to China for commercial performance should provide:
(1) Approval document (also copy) issued by the Ministry of Culture or the Cultural Department of related province, autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government;
(2) Visa notification issued by the Ministry of Culture or the foreign affairs office of related province, autonomous region and municipality directly under the Central Government.

(F) Personnel other than those mentioned above should provide:
(1) The Employment Permit for Foreigners issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
(2) Visa notification issued by an authorized unit in China (original).

(G) Accompanying family dependents of personnel working in China should provide related note, letter or visa notification issued by an authorized unit or documents proving their status as dependents.

Z-visa is usually issued with a single entry, valid for 3 months and with no duration of stay (i.e. 000 day of stay). Holders of work visa should go through the formalities for a residence permit at a local public security bureau within 30 days after entry into China, to avoid illegal stay in China. The period of validity of the residence permit is its holder's duration of stay in China.

Consular officers decide on the visa's period of validity, duration of stay and number of entries in light of China's laws and regulations.

The decision to issue a visa and its type shall be decided by Consular officers in the light of China's relevant laws and regulations.

• All the Travel Agents/ Representatives need to provide the original Authority Letter on the letter head of their Travel Agency/ Company along with each application:
• Company/Travel agency profile.
• Full Name and the Employee ID of the agent/representative.
• Details of the applicants (Full name and Passport number).
• Authorized signatory's signature, designation and the stamp of the company/travel agency.
• A covering letter from the husband/ father giving all his personal details and he should mention that he will will take care of all the expenses. The letter should be addressed to The Visa Officer, Embassy of the People's Republic of China, New Delhi - 110 021.
• A formal invitation from husband/ father inviting his wife/ child.
• Visa notification letter issued by Chinese Goverment in favor of applicant.
• Original Marriage / Birth certificate of the applicant.
• Physical Examination from, the photogarph to be pasted on it and should be attested by the doctor.
• A copy of the passport, visa, working card and any other relevant document of the husband/ father.
