International destinations covered by Thai AirAsia are Singapore, Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi, Phnom Penh, Kuala Lumpur, Yangon, Johor Bahru, Bali, Penang, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Macau and Taipei. There is also flight service between Phuket and Singapore as well as Hong Kong. History about Thai Air Asia

Thai AirAsia was founded on December 8, 2003. The airline started its domestic operations in February, 2004. The airline was formed by a joint venture between Shin Corporation and AirAsia. On February 15, 2006, registered company of Thailand named Asia Aviation took Shin Corporation's 50 percent stake of Thai AirAsia. Asia Aviation shared a joint venture with Shin Corporation, with 49 percent stake of Asia Aviation and 51 percent of Sittichai Veerathammanoon, a Thai investor. And in May of year 2007, Thai AirAsia acquired 100 percent of Asia Aviation. In present times, 50 percent is owned by Asia Aviation, 49 percent by AirAsia and 1 percent by CEO of Thai AirAsia.
