Turkish Airlines is the national airline of Turkey, having its base in Istanbul. The airline is operating a big network of scheduled services to 155 destinations, including 32 domestic cities and 123 global cities. Turkish Airlines has its main base at Ataturk International Airport (IST) in Istanbul, and secondary hubs at Esenboga International Airport (ESB, Ankara) and Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (SAW, Istanbul). History - Turkish Airlines was established on 20th May, 1933, as the State Airlines Administration � Devlet Hava Yollan (DHY). In August 1933, the airline started operations with an inaugural flight from Istanbul to Ankara. In September 1937, DHY received three De Havilland D.H. 86B biplane airliners.
