Sri Lankan Airlines
SriLankan Airlines Limited, which was previously known as Air Lanka, is the flag carrier of Sri Lanka. It operates a fleet of 13 aircrafts flying to destinations in Asia & Europe. Based at the Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport, the airline is not a part of any airline alliance but was in a partnership with Emirates Airlines which owns about 43.63% stake. The partnership, however, expired in March, 2008.
Sri Lankan Airlines Baggage Allowance
As per SriLankan Airlines baggage policy, a maximum of 32 kgs of luggage can be checked-in per guest. As per luggage restrictions, an extra charge will be levied for any baggage in excess to the free baggage allowance. While checked-in baggage rules are the same for all classes of travel, Sri Lankan Airlines cabin baggage policy is different for different classes, i.e. one 7 kg bag for economy-class passengers and 2 bags weighing 7 kgs each for business-class passengers. The airline, however, allows free carry-on items such as blankets, overcoats, umbrellas, cameras, etc.

- SriLankan Catering, a SriLankan Airline's fully-owned subsidiary is single-handedly responsible for managing its economic infrastructure and profitability. In addition to the company's prime responsibility, i.e. preparation of in-flight meals, it also caters for foreign airlines, some if which include Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Emirates. SriLankan Catering can easily cater to 15,000 passengers a day.
- The first frequent flyer program, Serendib Miles, was abandoned in early 2000. SriLankan Airlines then acquired Emirates' Skywards frequent flyer program, the agreement for which, ceased to exist as their partnership concluded on 31 March 2008. Thereafter, SriLankan Airlines launched FlySmiLes, and has added a variety of new reward partners to its program.
Sri Lankan Airlines Fleet
As of today, SriLankan Airlines has a total fleet of 13 aircrafts, all Airbus. These include the Airbus A320-200, Airbus A330-200, Airbus A340-300 and Boeing 767-300 ER (Wet Leased until 8th September 2010)
