SpiceJet Airlines is a low-cost carrier with its headquarters located in Gurgaon, India. The airline commenced its services in May, 2005. By 2008, SpiceJet became the country's second largest low-fare airline on the basis of market share. The main hub of the airline is Indira Gandhi International Airport (Delhi).Destination & Services
SpiceJet flights cover 22 destinations both domestic as well as international in India, Sri Lanka and Nepal. The airline started its international operations on October 7, 2010 with flights from Chennai in India, to Colomboin Sri Lanka. On October 9, 2010 it commenced flight services from New Delhi to Kathmandu in Nepal.
Fleet
SpiceJet Airlines was awarded the Best Low Cost Airline in India (February2009 and 2010) by Outlook Traveller. In December, 2009 it won the award for being the Best low fare airline of India, as per the survey conducted by MaRS on behalf of Hindustan Times.
Baggage Allowance
As per SpiceJet Baggage Allowance Policy there is free checked in baggage allowance up to 20 kg per adult and children (above 2 years of age). SpiceJet does not impose any limit on the number of bags; however each baggage must not exceed 32 kg according to airport baggage policies. The dimensions of the checked baggage must not exceed 62 inches (158 cm) overall (L+W+H). SpiceJet Airlines does not take responsibility for any inadequately packed, damages, perishable or fragile baggage or for any minor damages to the exterior of the baggage (for e.g, stains, scratches, dents, soling) happening from normal wear and tear or any kind of water damage to a non-waterproof baggage.
