Fleet
Qatar Airways operates one of the youngest and advanced technology fleet of aircraft. Current fleet of Qatar Airways consists of 85 aircrafts including Boeing 777 - 300ER, Airbus A340 - 600, Airbus A320 - 200, Airbus A330 - 200, Airbus A330 - 300, Airbus A321 - 200, Airbus A300 - 600, Airbus A319CJ, Airbus A300 - 600 Cargo Freighters and Airbus Long Range A319 LR. Six new wide-body aircrafts are expected to be added to the fleet by the year 2015. These include Airbus's like the A350-1000, A350-900, A350-800, A380-800 and Boeing 787-8.
Baggage Allowance
As per Qatar Airways baggage policy, 23 kgs of luggage can be checked-in for free for an economy-class passenger. However, luggage restrictions for Business Class and First Class Passengers aren't as stringent, i.e. 30 kgs and 40 kgs respectively. Luggage dimensions for all classes are restricted to linear 158 cms. Qatar Airways cabin baggage is restricted to 2 pieces not exceeding 7 kgs each in weight (for Economy Class passengers). For Business Class and First Class, cabin baggage up to 15 kgs in weight is allowed, the size being restricted to (50 l x 35 b x 27 h) cms.

Qatar Airways History
Established on November 22, 1993, Qatar Airways began its operations using a wet-leased B767-200(ER) plane from Kuwait Airways. Originally owned by the members of Qatar's royal family, Qatar Airways was re-launched in the year 1997 headed by a new management team. As of today, while 50% stake of Qatar Airways is held by the Government of Qatar, the rest is held by private investors.
