Turkish Airlines is the national airline of Turkey, having its base in Istanbul. History - Turkish Airlines was established on 20th May, 1933, as the State Airlines Administration � Devlet Hava Yollan (DHY). In August 1933, the airline started operations with an inaugural flight from Istanbul to Ankara. In September 1937, DHY received three De Havilland D.H. 86B biplane airliners.
