Baggage Allowance

Malaysia Airways baggage policy has laid down different baggage rules for different classes of travel. While 20 kgs of baggage with total linear dimensions of 115 cms can be checked-in by an economy-class passenger, the business-class and the first-class passengers can check-in 30 kgs and 40 kgs of baggage respectively. As per Malaysia Airlines cabin baggage restrictions, 1 cabin baggage is allowed for economy-class passengers and 2 for business and first class passengers. Luggage restrictions have limited the weight of each cabin baggage to 5 kgs.

Founded in 1947 as Malayan Airways, Malaysia Airlines has been transformed to Malaysian Airways after independence of Malaysia. Further, the airline was renamed to Malaysia-Singapore Airlines. With the division of Malaysia - Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines came into existence. In the year 1987 the airline begun its operation and the name was changed from Malaysian Airline System to Malaysia Airlines.
