Larnaca International Airport ( LCA ), as the name suggests is located in Larnaca in Cyprus. Located 5 kilometres south of Larnaca, the Larnaca International Airport is the main getaway from Cyprus and is the larger of the country's two commercial airports. LCA airport has one passenger terminal comprising two connected airside buildings and a large common arrivals hall situated behind. The airport has a separate cargo terminal as well. The LCA is undergoing expansion and parts of it are under construction at present, but are functional with a new control tower, fire station, runway extension, and additional administrative offices.
Founded in 1926 in Berlin, following a merger between 'Deutsche Aero Lloyd' (DAL) and 'Junkers Luftverkehr', Lufthansa's original name was Deutsche Luft Hansa Aktiengesellschaft. South Atlantic routes were resumed in August 1956. Today, Lufthansa Airlines is Europe's largest airline and also the flag carrier of Germany. The name of the company is derived from Luft (the German word for ""air""), and Hansa (after Hanseatic League, the powerful medieval trading group).
