Finnair Logo Finnair (AY) is the national flag carrier and the largest airline in Finland. It has its headquarters on the grounds of Helsinki Airport, Vantaa, in Finland. Finnair's main hub is Helsinki Airport. Along with their subsidiaries, Finnair dominates domestic as well as international air travel market of Finland. Finnair is a public limited company, and the government of Finland has 55 percent of the shares. The airline is also a member of Oneworld airline alliance.

Finnair Baggage Allowance

The Baggage Allowance policy of Finnair allows free baggage allowance of 23 kilograms, with maximum dimensions of 158 cms. (height + length + width) on all Finnair domestic and international scheduled flights. In Business Class, passengers can carry two bags and passengers with Economy Class tickets from Y and B category are allowed 2 bags each. Infants are allowed one bag each, with a maximum weight limit of 23 kilograms, along with one pushchair or infant seat. To know the checked baggage allowance for leisure flights, passengers are requested to check the airline website, or consult a travel agency before buying a ticket.

In case of carry-on baggage, Finnair allows baggage which can conveniently fit in the overhead compartment, or under the seat in front of the passenger.

Finnair exclusive services include a range of in-flight entertainment. Nearly all Finnair flights have LCD screens, Audio/ Video with a wide range of choice, all to entertain the travelers. On most of the European flights, sandwiches or cold salads are served, with non-alcoholic beverages. Business class travel offer warm meals and free beverages, which includes alcohol. On several intercontinental flights, there is a choice of meals for travelers, in the economy class.

Finnair Fleet

As of March, 2011 the fleet of Finnair fleet consisted of a total of 66 aircrafts, which includes 11 Airbus A319-100, 12 Airbus A320-200, 6 Airbus A321-200, 8 Airbus A330-300, 7 Airbus A340-300, 4 Boeing 757-200, 5 Embraer E-170, 11 Embraer E-190, and 2 McDonnell Douglas MD-11F aircrafts.

Finnair was honored with the Best Airline Northern Europe Award at World Airline Awards of year 2010.
