Egypt AirEgyptAir (MS) is the national flag carrier of Egypt and also the biggest airline in Africa. the main hub is at the Cairo International Airport EgyptAir operates passenger and freight services to over 75 destinations in Africa, Asia, Middle East, Europe and America. An extensive network of EgyptAir focuses on Cairo, the capital city of Egypt. Other focus cities of the airline include Alexandria, Hurghada and Luxor. The airline is an esteemed member of the Star Alliance. The logo of the airline is Horus, a sky God in ancient Egyptian mythology and is often represented as a falcon, or a man with the head of a falcon. EgyptAir shares a code share agreements with a number of international airlines like Ethiopian Airlines, Gulf Air, Malaysia Airlines, Tunis Air, and Yemenia.

Fleet

EgyptAir has a pretty young fleet which includes 73 aircrafts. The fleet consists of 13 Airbus A320-200, 4 Airbus A321-200, 7 Airbus A330-200, 1 Airbus A330-300, 3 Airbus A340-200, 4 Boeing 737-500, 16 Boeing 737-800, 5 Boeing 777-200ER, and 5 Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts.

Baggage Allowance

The Baggage Allowance regulation of EgyptAir allows free luggage allowance for each class of service. For F class it is 50 kilograms, for C Class it is 40 kilograms, for classes Y, B, and M, it is 30 kilograms, and Infants in F, C, and Y are entitled to 10 kilograms of free checked luggage. Any checked baggage exceeding the allowed weight limit is subject to charge.

Egypt Air History

One of the pioneer airlines of the world, EgyptAir was established in May, 1932 and became the 7th carrier of the world. In August, 1933 the airline started commercial operation with service from Cairo to Alexandria. On July17th, 2008, EgyptAir joined the Star Alliance network, to offer customers improved flight services and comfort during travel. On March 10th, 2010, EgyptAir took delivery of its largest aircraft, Boeing 777-300ER.
