Baggage Allowance

The Baggage Allowance policy of Eastern Airways allows 15 kilograms of checked baggage for each passenger. Any baggage exceeding this weight limit would be subject to excess baggage charges of £6.00 per kilogram, per sector. Due to certain Health and Safety regulations, the airline doesn't accept any single piece with a weight of more than 32 kilograms.

Awards & Recognition

The airline has been awarded the European Regions Airline Association Airline of the Year Gold Award for the year 2006-07. It has also been awarded the Airline of the Year Silver Award for the years 2003-04, and 2004-05. The airline won the runner-up prize for its punctual services at UK airports from 2005 to 2008 by Flight on Time, based on CAA statistics.

Eastern Airways History

Eastern Airways began operations in December 1997 with scheduled services between Humberside and Aberdeen after KLM withdrew from the same route. The airline bought Manchester based Air Kilroe in February 1999 and added 2 BAe Jetstream 32 aircrafts to the fleet. In the year 2002, Eastern Airways got its first J41 aircraft, which forms an important part of the airline's present fleet. In July 2010 Eastern Airways took delivery of an Embraer 135 aircraft with 37 - seats.
