Now a part of the German airline, Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines was originally started as Crossair and was part of the holding company SAir Group along with Swissair, which was the former flag carrier of Switzerland. After the bankruptcy of Swissair in 2001, Crossair was renamed SWISS and became the national airline of Switzerland.
