Excellent location away from the hustle bustle yet close to the mall. Beautiful walk to the mall. courteous staff and good service.

This hotel had a good location. Its well known for many movie shoots, however staff was slow in service.

It was a very good experience. We stayed in this hotel from 13th May 2012 to 15th May 2012. The hotel location is very good. Just 15 Minutes walk to the Mall Road. Room, bed and toilets were clean. Very calm, quiet place. The hotel staff was very friendly. Complementary morning breakfast was excellent. It's a very nice place to stay in Shimla.

The hotel has a perfect location: 1 KM walking distance on a small and quite lane to the Mall Road, yet enjoy a private, serene and beautiful surroundings among the deodars. Food was good in the garden restaurant, service was slow though. Breakfast was simple but quite continental, acceptable for foreigners. Car rental from the hotel very efficient. Room decorations and conditions were just ordinary, strongly recommend the owner to have an overall renovation. My family stayed on the second floor of the Palace Wing. Both rooms enjoy the valley view, thanks to the receptionist. Overall, itÂ’s a hotel with history and vintage atmosphere at a great location but with ordinary rooms and services, I'd like to recommend it to those who value the first two elements more than the latter ones, just as I am. for room tips: ask for the comparatively newly renovated rooms; to make a better choice ,you need to have a look at available rooms both on the Palace Wing and the Heritage Wing before check in.

The hotel boasts on vintage experience, but not at all advisable during winter stay. They do not have hot water in bathrooms for all taps. The room is not adequately warm as there is no central heating they supply room heaters, of which one is not enough, we ordered for 2. The meal is average.

The service of the hotel is authentic,we have reached around 5 am in morning and they provided the room at that time. The room was excellent and services provided by the hotel management was excellent. Me and my wife went there for new year eve celebration and the arrangement for the party was excellent, they arranged bone fire also. Food quality is excellent. Only one word is sufficient for this hotel "Owsome experience".

Hotel turned out better than expectations. It is a beautiful property. Close to the mall, 15 minutes walk, yet away from the rush. A true heritage property with great service. I will definitely stay here if I visit shimla again.

The quick check-in and check-out process was really good. We really liked the room though a LCD TV in today's world is more desirable than a 21"TV. Moreover, most of the Sports channels on Tata Sky were not viewable since they were not subscribed for. The Room Service was very efficient and very very prompt. Though it was not easy to get through to them. Moreover, the Room Service starts at 7am. A 24/7 service would have been better since most of the hotels provide it. House-Keeping service could have been better since they did not keep enough towels for a family of 3 (2 adults and a kid). We had to had to ask them to provide them on a daily basis. The food we ate in the Dining hall was good. However, they preferred to serve from the Buffet Menu and if you order from the Ala-Carte, they did not seem too happy about it and used to tell the guests that the waiting period would be 30-45 minutes and it used to take that long. Overall, I would still rate the hotel as Very Good!

Excellent heritage property, with lush gardens and quiet surroundings. Well located with ample car parking. Good service and food. Absolute value for money.

Located distinctly apart in a solitude yet important location around the Secretariat in Chhota Shimla, Welcomville is a welcome respite from the crowded mainstream hotels. The heritage property is decently managed by polite and courteous staff. However the property is not well maintained in terms of lawns, no playing area for kids, poor breakfast menu and only 1 dining hall. TVs are outdated with poor reception. No option of barbeque outside or any other event. An ideal place for those looking for only solitude.
