Its a heritage resort but there is no room service. Restaurant service is very poor. Drinking water is chargeble even in complimentry breakfast.

The hotel's location is excellent and the hotel itself is very beautiful and interesting being the raja's palace...

Right from check-in, hotel staff was not co-operative at all. Restaurent guys were not well mannered. Preparation of breakfast was absolutely pathetic. Room accessories were in bad condition. TV was very old and was not in working condition. Overall it was not value for money. Paying huge tariff for such services is not advisablea at all.

Terrible maintenance with dead lizards and insects in the rooms and corridors. The staff did not looked like professionals and the doors cannot be latched from inside. Very scary. No way one can stay in this place with family.

Hotel does not provide water which is provided all over the world. The entrance of the hotel does give impression that you are entering to a hotel, rather complicated matter.

Summary: Great location, building and cleanliness; good breakfast; all other things just mediocre. All major tourist attractions within walking distance. Large courtyard to isolate town center noise and pollution. Well maintained “heritage” building with beautifully carved arches, balconies and parapets. The rooms- large, airy and clean. The room facilities are basic. A noisy window AC, beds that make strange sound every time you turn, old TV with well-worn remote and noisy cable connection. The tea-coffee makers that do not work. Solar water heating system needs expert intervention! Drinking water delivered in a refilled mineral water bottle after a couple of reminders. The service: good intention but limited capabilities. They forgot to keep tea bags in the room and when we complained, the poor chap was very apologetic and dumped the whole bunch with hopelessly entangled lead threads! Breakfast- simple but wholesome. Do not fall for the sunset trip to Sam sand dunes. The camel ride was OK but “traditional entertainment” was mediocre and dinner was just lousy. Made to pay almost double the amount that is charged if you make arrangement directly.

We really stayed in the palace, the golden suite is a part of the palace with nice decoration. The staff is very kind and helpful, the manager is really a gentleman, polite and kind. He showed us around the museum and gave us detailed information. The owner raised many horses and cows in the courtyard.

The hotel uniquely captures the grandeur of Jaisalmer history. There are many hotels in town built in a haveli style, but none has the beauty and history that this hotel provides. In addition, the staff was always friendly and attentive to our needs. I will certainly recommend Mandir Palace to others who plan a trip to Jaisalmer.

A fantastic hotel. We had a massive room with its own lounge area. Very clean and comfortable. Very nice breakfast and food. Friendly staff and beautiful building.
