Navigating away from the twisting roads of Ernakulam, to a relatively quiet corner near the South railway station stands in a sprawling property, the Metropolitan Hotel. An amazingly white building with a huge parking area in front greets you with open arms. Inside, you see the reception and travel desk headed by a very busy staff and at the far end, the lobby covered in semi darkness. The heavy smell of air freshener surrounds you while you sit and flip through the many magazines lined in front of you.

Rooms
The hotel has 39 rooms divided into 11 Superior rooms, 4 Deluxe rooms and 16 Executive rooms. All the categories of rooms are available in single and double occupancy basis. The rooms are pretty and bright with matching curtains and linen. The tiled Deluxe room is compact and has amenities like a satellite television, tea and coffee maker, mini bar, telephone, cupboard, sofa chairs and complimentary snack basket on arrival. The bathroom is compact too with a shower cubicle and basic amenities like running hot and cold water, telephone, soap, shampoo and shower cap. The Superior rooms are the lower category of rooms with almost the same amenities of the Deluxe room except a mini bar. This room has a single sofa chair for seating and is comparatively smaller in size also. The bathroom here is however bigger with the same facilities as the Deluxe room.

Dining
The hotel has a multi cuisine restaurant Pallava, where you can savour a pot pourri of cuisines from Keralan, Chinese and Mughlai. The Pallava is a bright and airy room with flaring red sofas and couches. Besides this, you can relax with a drink at Nasha with your choice of cocktails, mocktails and domestic and international spirits.

Facilities
The hotel has 3 conference halls divided between the ground and first floor, each with a capacity of accommodating around 40 to 70 people. In addition, there is a Board room for 10 - 15 people. The halls and the boardroom are equipped with full fledged secretarial services including fax, Photostat, internet etc. Besides this, the in house facilities include room service, housekeeping service, laundry service, travel desk, car rental facilities, internet connectivity, safety deposit lockers, and doctor on call, business centre and a huge parking area.

Location
The Metropolitan Hotel is located opposite the South railway station in Ernakulam, about 35 kilometres away from the airport and a walking distance from the bus stop. The main commercial centre in M.G road is also within walking distance from the hotel.
