The Elgin Reviews, Darjeeling

The hotel says its 4 star, just compare this with other property of its like hotel elgin nor khill in sikkim which doesnot say that it is 4 star. The stairs are very narrow, dirty carpet, broken taped window, leaked ceiling, non fresh dining basement, floors in bad condition,old and old staff,spicy food,smelling room,not using natural lights effectively.

Fantastic hotel. Had too leave after only one night due to the strike in the area. Really missed not staying for the next two days. I must stress however that the hotel or Makemytrip should have informed us that we would not have been able to complete our three night booking. Hotel relocated us to their sister hotel in Gangtok after another guest informed us that the area was being closed down. The Elgin should have informed us at check-in. Otherwise great hotel.

This was one of my memorable stay. One can feel like he is really in some Monarchy. It is a real heritage hotel. It is not too far from Mall. One can easily walk to Mall from the Hotel. The hotal staff was very courteous and gentle and well behaved. I forgot some of my belonging in the room which I could get back as the Hotel staff and managers helped me. I stongly reccomend this hotel for one who likes such a stay and value for his money.
