The Accord Metropolitan Reviews, Chennai

Rarely do you find a hotel that matches up to its reviews and pictures shown on the site.. Accord Metropolitan was one such hotel. The room and the wash room were extremely clean.

The hotel building and facilities are very well maintained. The room was neat, clean and tastefully decorated. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The offered an extended checkout until 3pm upon request. My stay was very pleasant and I will definitely go back to the hotel in the future.

Excellent hotel, good location. Food was quite expensive. They have very good service.

The Accord definitely deserves its 5-star rating. We thoroughly enjoyed the friendly staff, cleanliness, location and especially the buffet breakfast and dinner. The food was extraordinary! Definitely reccommend for business and also tourist travellers.

Food is very bad. We had a rotten sandwich on first day as dinner which could not be eaten.Break fast was ordered in the room and to the great disappointment ,a cockroach jumped out of the idli vada plate.They were prompt to replace it with a set of dosas. But the experience was horrrible.Bed is not combortable, bathroom showers are not properly temperature controlled. It was altogether not a value at all for the money.

The Accord, which is billed at a 5 star business hotel, was, at best, a 4 star hotel. Its prices (for food and other amenities) are those of a 5 star hotel. We had a difficult check-in where they insisted on seeing our passports as opposed to the driver's licenses, taking our photographs for their files, and not honouring the terms of our Make My Trip reservation (i.e., the number of free breakfasts and dinners). We would like to warn uninitiated travellers, Be prepared for an invasion of privacy in the name of security. Be ready with your best smile as you will be photographed in addition to having to provide government identification with photos. We felt that we were at an immigration counter of an airport. The three main positives were the following: (1) The room was very, very clean (excellent job cleaning crew), the restaurant food was great and the service wonderful), and the hotel location superb.

Comfortable and value for money.

The reliance digital TV was very complicated to use. Many times it was unscrambled. Called for help with this and was told someone would be sent but no one came. Later got a call about us needing a bell boy but this was in response to the request to unscramble the TV. There is limited facilities for a driver. There is a freshen up room but I had to come down to the desk in the early morning to have my driver get access to the freshen up room. This despite introducing the driver to the desk staff and giving the driver our room number. Not sure if this problem was due to language as I am an English speaker and not many of the staff seemed to have a good command of English.
