Gol Gumbaz is the 2nd largest dome in the world, second in size only to St. Peters Basilica in Rome. It is 124 feet in diameter, and is truly an architectural wonder as it stands unsupported by pillars. It is the last resting place of Muhammad Adil Shah.
Ibrahim Roza, the mausoleum of Ibrahim Adil Shah II, is said to have inspired the Taj Mahal in Agra. It is a beautiful tomb with artistically laid out corridors and interconnecting buildings, with richly decorated walls and perforated stone windows.
Built in 1672, Bara Kaman is the unfinished mausoleum of Ali Roza Adil Shah and contains his wife and childrens tombs as well. The name translates to 12 arches, and it might have surpassed all other monuments in Bijapur if completed.
The Jod Gumbaz collectively houses the tombs of Khan Muhammad and Abdul Razzaq Qadiri, and is a beautiful monument of Bijapur, built during the reign of the Adil Shahi rulers.
Navaraspur was the auditorium for many concerts during the reign of the Adil Shahi rulers, and is about 10 km outside the city limits. The local administration organizes the Navaraspur Festival of song and dance at the ruins of the site for tourists.
