There are three exit points in India to the islands – Chennai, Kolkata and Vishakhapatnam. Point of entry is the capital city of Port Blair. Wild Orchid is situated on the Havelock island, 54 km by sea from Port Blair.
A morning and afternoon ferry operates between Port Blair and Havelock Island and the journey takes two - four hours. The ferries are run by the Shipping Corporation of India. Advance bookings are possible for the morning ferries (subject to availability). The resort can make a booking for you if intimated a few days in advance, otherwise tickets are available at the Phoenix Bay Jetty Ticket Counter from 9:00am to 11am (closed on Sundays). Prices range from Rs. 50 to 200. The resort offers complimentary pick up from the jetty upon your arrival on the Havelock island.

Air: Flights are available from Chennai and Kolkata to Port Blair. The flight is about 2 hours long.

Sea:
Passenger ships are available from Chennai, Kolkata and Vishakapatnam to Port Blair. Tickets must be purchased in person at the Shipping Corporation of India. Sailings dates are subject to last minute changes, therefore the tickets can only be purchased 3-4 days before the sailing. During the high season (October to May) there are usually 4 sailings per month from Chennai & Kolkata and 1 or 2 sailings per month from Vishakapatnam. Return tickets can only be purchased in Port Blair.

(Note that non Indian passport holders need a special permit to enter the Andaman Islands)

The resort offers a three kilometre long, isolated beach. Relax and rejuvenate those city-battered senses – peace, quiet and courteous service are the USPs of the resort.
