At night, Shreyas softly glows in candle light with soothing music in the background, the gentle lapping of water in the infinity pool and the sound of nature all around. Attention to detail is everywhere – whether it is bowls full of water with chrysanthemums floating in them or dinner tables strewn with rose petals. Birdsong and the breezes accompany you here at all times, making this retreat one of the best you’ve ever had.

Shreyas is rated one of the finest Yoga retreats in the world. Meals are all vegetarian and smoking and drinking not allowed, cajoling you into complete detoxification. Shreyas encourages ‘working with nature’ so guests have an option of partaking in the sowing, caring for and picking the farm produce. In tandem with the tenets of Karma Yoga, the guests also cook for children studying in a nearby school. Of course this is all voluntary – you can also choose to attend Yoga classes, lounge by the pool with herbal tea, read books on philosophy and rejuvenate with Balinese massages.
