The green is what strikes you wherever you are in the Cicada Resort. Entering the property is like stepping inside a haven of nature with an added flavour of wildlife. Luxury amidst wilderness is the resort’s USP with River Kabini brushing past it. Situated in a village away from the chaos of cities, the resort stands straddled by sandalwood and bamboo trees and its grounds reverberate with the calls of wild birds.

USP: Something for everyone – a family vacation, an intimate holiday or a tryst with adventure – the resort offers all.
Ciacda Kabini resort is about 290 km from Bangalore.

Air: The nearest airport is in Bangalore from where you need to drive to Kabini. Another interesting option is to take a helicopter ride to the resort from Bangalore. If you are interested, the resort will help you out with the details.

Rail:
The nearest railhead is Bangalore, well connected with destinations all over India.

Road:
The drive from Bangalore takes about four to five hours. The route is via Mysore. As you approach Mysore from Bangalore, do not enter the city. Look for the New Outer Ring Road and take a right turn from the main highway. Drive for 20 km and then take an exit to your right leading to a village called HD Kote, 45 km from here. Once at HD Kote, drive further a few kilometres to reach a signboard that says ‘Kabini Dam’. Turn right from here and keep on the road, passing through a barricade and entering the forest. About 9 km from the check-post, take the first left turn and continue driving for 6 km to reach the Cicada Resort. The resort lies adjacent to ‘Jungle Lodges and Resorts Ltd’. This village is called Karapura.

Situated on the fringes of the Rajiv Gandhi National Park, the resort organises activities such as jungle safaris, nature walks, boat rides, kayaking and bicycle trips. A special kids’ menu keeps the families in mind while the swimming pool promises fun times. The spa, rightly called Cloud 9, has you floating hours after a session here, rejuvenated and relaxed. Look out for the wildlife films screened here – an informative and interesting way to gear up for the real thing for children as well as grown ups.
