Oak Fields Overview - Munnar Oak Fields is located at the extreme end of a long winding road in the hills of Munnar, amidst the mist of the skies. It was started in 2001 and has a total of 5 floors. The total area if this property is 73 cents and a tea garden surrounds the hotel.

Lobby
The welcome is warm and personalized. You walk into a large spacious lobby with enough natural light filtering in though the long, vertically elongated windows. High arched ceilings are decorated with bronze coloured chandeliers. A seating area populates either side of the entrance, atop wooden flooring and has furnishings of large wooden chairs and cane sofas. A wooden reception and travel desk are what you will see immediately, on entering. An imitational fireplace is another feature while a huge wooden cabinet sports a beautiful flower arrangement. A first floor balcony looks over the lobby as it surrounds it like a courtyard.

Beside the hotel is a beautiful, lush lawn with a steep incline and beyond is a tea plantation. Most of the rooms look out into this lawn and the view is superb. At the top of this incline is a wooden hut on stilts where guests can lounge around and enjoy themselves in. A little clearing half way up the incline, is a bonfire space which is used every evening from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Wood and wrought iron benches are present here.

Rooms
With a total of 37 rooms, the hotel offers two categories with 24 Deluxe rooms and 13 Standard rooms. Deluxe rooms and Standard rooms are situated in two separate blocks. All the Deluxe rooms have wooden flooring while most of the Standard rooms have tiled flooring and two standard rooms have marble flooring. Seven of the rooms in the hotel have bathtubs in the washrooms while others enjoy glass shower cubicles. The facilities common to all the rooms are cable television, telephones with STD/ISD facility with connections through the reception,24 hours hot & cold running water, 24 hours room service, heaters on request, basic toiletries and refrigerators. Most of the rooms have large and spacious interiors and the Deluxe rooms have a seating space on entering with black leather sofas and lamps mounted on the walls. Some of the Standard rooms have wrought iron chairs and tables and even though are the lower category, are delightful spaces. Dashes of colour lighten up the rooms with bright curtains. The rooms offer comfort and convenience as well as a beautiful view of the hills and tea estate.

Other services and facilities offered by the hotel are parking space, car rental, travel assistance, doctor on call, laundry, bonfire area, outdoor hut and acceptance of major credit cards.

Dining
The dining facility in the hotel offers Diners - the multi cuisine restaurant which can accommodate a total of 42 persons. If guests are staying on MAP basis then they can only avail a buffet and if on CP basis they can choose from a buffet or an a la carte. The restaurant has a balcony attached and is open for a buffet breakfast from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, lunch from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm and dinner 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. There are attached washrooms for ladies and gents.

The hotel offers these basic facilities and proves to be an economical stay for the guests.

Don't Miss
Spend an evening by the bonfire and do check out the little hut located on a slope within the exterior premises of the building. It may be the perfect place to spend a peaceful time with a special someone.

Oak Fields is located in Potamedu, 7 kilometres from the main Munnar town, 130 kilometres from Cochin airport and 150 kilometres from the Kottayam railway station. It is situated amidst rolling hills and a lush tea estate.
