Misty Mountain Resort Reviews, Munnar

Awesome location!!...that is the main attraction and worth the stay. Service is slow. Rooms are very good with wonderful view from the valley view rooms...but bed quality is bad. Food options are limited but good.

Very nice location, excellent view of the mountains from one window and tea estate from the other. Very friendly staff and excellent spa services. Only drawback is that there is no balcony. Rest everything is jus wonderful.

1. Location: a) Positives: The location of the hotel is mind-blowing. The view from the rooms is excellent. You can see the beautiful valleys covered in mist. Its so soothing to the eyes that you will love it the moment you open the curtains of your window. Negatives: Misty Mountain is located around 10-12 kms from Munnar town towards Cochin direction. The road from the hotel to the town is in a bad shape so it takes some time to reach from hotel to the main market. If you are planning to stay close to the market, avoid staying here. 2. Recreation: They have their own recreation facilities, like board games, campfire, etc., you can enjoy these facilities if you are not going out on a particular day. 3. Food: The hotel has 2 restaurants, one has buffet and the other has ala carte. We tried the buffet one and let me say we were really disappointed. Its just not value for money. There were no starters and the dessert had no options. Hope this review helps you.

The hotel has an excellent view from the Valley View Room true to its name 'Misty Mountain'. Though its more of a hotel than a 'resort' its a good option. 8 kms away from Munnar towards Cochin on NH49 and hence cabs/taxis would charge you much higher to pick you up for your sightseeing trips. You are a captive market for the hotel for dinner/snacks as there are no alternative food options around. (The hotel quoted maintenance work to close its regular restaurant during our stay and gave us no option but to take the buffet which was pricey and the food wasn't great.) Staff was courteous and friendly. Overall I would recommend this place for people visiting Munnar in their own cars/vehicles.

Hotel was well maintained and food was excellent. Hotel is located 8 km from Munnar (on the cochin direction). The hotel is well named as "Misty Mountain", most of the time hotel is covered by mist. If you have a four wheeler and you expect a getaway location, then this is a ideal hotel.

The location was mesmerizing and that itself kind of justified the price. But throughout Munnar you get many hotels with similar view and so I think it were kind of a bit expensive considering it is not a resort but a normal hotel. The breakfast was good but dinner was very over-priced. The staff was courteous and helpful. They arranged for cab facility from and to Cochin including sight-seeing. So, it was overall a nice experience.

I expected more open space when you call a place a resort. It was more of a Hotel and less of resort. The food quality was not that good. We had problems with the hot water supply both the days. The facilities like gym, indoor sports can be improved.

The managers at the front desk should know how to speak in English, its a pain to communicate otherwise. No doubt the manager at the reception were very helpful!!

Great place to stay! Clean & comfy rooms, and great view of the valley. Only thing we missed was a balcony in the rooms.

The hotel was 8 km from the main city and the restaurant was pretty ordinary. The food quality was okay but the menu was fixed for each day. There were no alternative choices. The room was not cleaned and bed done unless explicitly told so. One day even after repeatedly telling the hotel authorities, the bed was not done.
