Megapode Resort - Andaman Reviews, Port Blair

The hotel was quite ok but food was not up to the mark. Poor room service.

Megapode resort is located exclusively at hilltop and offers a good view of the sea around.Services were little slow due to heavy crowd.

Our Nicobari Cottage was supposed to be the best room at the hotel but it was dirty, old and stinky, lots of insects, toilet had leaks, overall was down and depressive. We moved to a deluxe room which is cheaper and not so awful. Kitchen is disgusting, we had no guts to eat there. Rats inside the room during the night. No refunds, they asked me to call my agent to get it on a Saturday night! Bad experience.

The location of the hotel and its sea view is excellent. That is the only good thing about it. All the rest, like service, food etc. sucks big time. There was moss and stains on the curtains in our room. The bed sheets, blankets and bed covers were stained. The pillows were dirty. The bath tub was cracked and stained. There were cockroaches roaming round the room. The AC did not work. The fan stopped after 15 mins. There were voltage fluctuations. Upon a power cut, it took 15 mins for the generator to be on. Our bed sheets were not changed.

The travel desk person Mr. Manoj(Vashist Travels) was very hospitable & arranged my travel trip very efficiently and judiciously. In fact my wife's birthday on 6th March was celebrated by a surprise cake treat by Mr. Manoj & his colleagues. My trip to local destinations was also re-adjusted due to a Public Holiday on 3rd March in such a way that there was no stress upon other site visits. I recommend this resort & Vashist Travels (for tours) to all visitors to Port Blair.

It was the most exotic place to stay at Port Blair and I completely enjoyed every moment of my time!
