A majestic building, orange in colour perched on top of a hill with the fog playing hide and seek with the rooftops from time to time. No, this is not a fantasy house of a fairy princess, but the 5 star Ambassador Resorts. The Resort-Spa is sprawling, with a large lobby interconnecting to different areas like the restaurant, garden, health club and of course, the rooms.
The hotel is located at an altitude of 1930 metres and 52 kilometres away from Bhuntar airport, 275 kilometres from Kalka railway station and about 4 kilometres from the main Manali town.

Hotel Facilities
The Conference Area is a huge hall with a combination of balconies and lawns adjoining it. This place can accommodate around 350 people, while the lawns can accommodate around 1,500 people. The Health Club is a unique combination of a gymnasium and other games like squash, billiards, badminton, tennis, card, carom and roller skating. Spa facilities with steam, sauna and Jacuzzi also form an important ingredient into the fitness and beauty regime. Besides this, other services include medical attention, babysitting facilities, currency exchange counter, newspaper facilities, travel desk, business centre and parking facilities.

Room Amenities
There are around 50 centrally heated rooms here divided across eight categories. Each has a distinct taste and feel to it. The Balcony rooms have large glass windows and balconies providing a clear view of the entire valley. These 14 rooms are beautifully furnished with a satellite television, mini bar, drinking water, comfortable chairs and attached bathroom with running hot and cold water. The bathrooms have a shower cubicle and amenities like shampoo, soap, moisturizer, shower cap etc. The Garden rooms are the same as the Balcony rooms except that these rooms open to a private garden with carpeted grass and quaint chairs for guests to sit out in the cool misty air and sip hot tea or coffee.
The Deluxe rooms are large and spacious with the very beautiful view of the River Beas gurgling just down below. These rooms have two double beds, two satellite televisions, one bathroom and one huge balcony. The seven Duplex rooms are a marvel in wood with wooden floors, ceilings and furniture, giving it a very retro feel. The rooms have full size double beds both at the lower level and mezzanine level connected by a spiral staircase. Ideally, these rooms are best suited for families with children. The Deluxe Suites are picturesque and very modern with a separate drawing and dining area and bedroom with a private balcony overlooking the snow clad hills above and the old Manali town down below. A 29-inch television that cannot miss the eye adds to the beauty of this room. The bathroom is stylish and big with all modern facilities one can imagine.
The Royal Suite is the ultimate in luxury and style and offers a grand living room with a separate bedroom for children and adults divided between two floors. The children's bedroom has a sun deck and a private balcony overlooking River Beas and the snow clad mountains. The Sunny Side Cottages with three elegantly furnished bedrooms with attached bathrooms, children's room, living/dining room, fully equipped kitchen, large balcony and courtyard is a home away from home. The New Wing Deluxe Suites, a new venture of this hotel is also drawing praises from all corners. These Suites are extremely modern with leather sofas and couches and smart and stylish beds and all other modern facilities provided in the Deluxe category. All the rooms are accompanied with excellent room services like laundry service, safety locker, cupboards and more.

Dining
Cafe Jardin, the 24 hour coffee shop is the place where one might want to sit with a book or soulful music over breakfast, a cup of coffee or mini meal. The Library Bar is a comfortable space set amidst two small waterfalls and a small water body. The minimal space boasts subdued lighting and the modern bar counter with international and domestic liquor compliment the abundance of books displayed here. The gentle sound of water in the background, a nice chilling drink and the choicest journal in the hand makes this place a favorite place of the guests. The D?Jong is a Chinese and Tibetan specialty restaurant with beautifully carved and hand painted walls, roof, windows and doors. The Kibber is a three tier seating and display kitchen restaurant serving northwest Frontier cuisine. It has a fort like appearance and serves lunch and dinner with live dance and music performances.
