Hotel Sadaf Reviews, Srinagar

I book the flight & hotel through makemytrip & choose this Hotel not expecting much since I booked for a budget hotel, but I am so lucky & blessed that I choose Hotel Sadaf among others. Arriving in the Airport of Srinagar, the driver has no problem with the location when I told him Hotel Sadaf, he ended up giving me a 100 rupees discount. Reception was very warm and friendly, without delays they took my bags and escorted me to my room. The room was spacious, bed was even enough for 3 persons, have cabinets for my things, a table & 2 chairs and a normal TV. Bathroom was clean & big, water heater was well functional. Hotel is at the center of the city but still you won’t hear the sounds of streets or vehicles, I was delighted to hear birds chirping outside my window. It is very near the shops, other tourist spot like Mosques & temples, receptionist is very helpful in getting transport and advising me places to go. It is walking distance to the Tourist destination center, and a little bit to Dal Gate. I walked from Dal Lake going to the Hotel almost late night, but I feel so safe, there were some police on the street that greets me “ how are you my friend?” and very welcoming. I guess sometimes News makes us scared of nothing. This is a very peaceful and friendly place – Srinagar, and I plan to come back in the winter. Ending up my 4days vacation, the owner of the hotel was also going to Airport and has offered me a ride. I was blessed indeed for Staying in Hotel Sadaf, good location, good hotel, good food (for vege), I love the Kashmiri tea! & my morning breakfast, good staff, very accommodating owner of the hotel which is by the way a doctor, good value for money. I will come again in Srinagar, would definitely stays in this hotel again, and would highly recommend as well to my friends.

Cozy and comfortable hotel.

Good staff. Breakfast should have been included in the package.

According to my booking I book Super Deluxe Room but I got only Deluxe Room.

First of all it was a pain to find the hotel location and the hotel staff was not ready to send any body for pickup. Secondly the hotel room was so small that one can hardly find a breathing space. I complained to them then they gave me another room which was further smaller but probably better arranged that previous one. Later part of my stay the staff was behaving very rudely. They decline to serve tea at evening 7 pm saying that it's dinner time. I requested them the room heater and they declined saying not available. I was lucky enough to find one of their staff who helped during this tough time. There was no power one day morning and they did not switch on the generator for two hours. I along with my kids had to take bath from shivering cold water. After rain the approach road was full of water at least one and half feet. Probably my worst experience.

In one word EXCELLENT.

While I stayed there the reception was undergoing renovation (lot of smell around of funiture polishing). On first day I was given room that was neat but washroom washbasin has not enough leg space to stand beside. And wall fan's (no ceiling fan) swivel function was not working. I was given a better room from second day of my stay. And internet facility is available in one common room and not round the clock. But room was neat and clean with nice room service.

Satisfied.
