Hotel Mandakini Palace Reviews, Kanpur

Considering we had only a night to spend as we were leaving for Lucknow in 8-10 hours at about 11 in the morning,it was increasingly difficult to spend that time in this hotel. As you enter,you'll find the floor has never been cleaned. The bedsheets were dirty. The pot was really dirty,though we got them to clean the whole bathroom but it was of no use as they are complete slackers. The most pressing problem was however,the AC which was good for nothing. The AC was off as there was no electricity for atleast 14 - 16 hours(as per the room service waiter). Further on questioning, they assured that there is a generator backup from 12 a.m to 9 am. This was put to test and turned out to be a blatant lie as the AC stopped working at around 2 a.m for about an hour and a half. It again shut off in the morning around 7 a.m. Considering the hot tempreture which is in U.P, the service for our money is totally,a big zero. And not to forget there were baby cockroaches prancing around the room as well.

Centrally located, but off the main road. Clean rooms and prompt service.
