Iruppu Falls is 91 km from Madikeri, and is a sacred spot in the Brahmagiri range of hills. The river Lakshman-tirtha and Ram-tirtha flow nearby, and have significance in the Ramayana. The temple dedicated to Lord Ram here is much visited by pilgrims.
18 km from Kushalnagar, is Dubare Elephant Camp, located on a beautiful natural island. The state run Jungle Lodges and Resorts takes care of the upkeep of this camp. There are 12 tamed elephants here, and visitors can take free elephant rides.
