Hotel Great Value Reviews, Dehradun

I decided to book this hotel after reading reviews at MakeMyTrip. I had booked a Deluxe Room which is exactly as seen in the pictures. The room smelt of dampness, but that might be something common in hill stations. I opted not to go for a room change as it did not bother me. The bed length might be a problem if you are more than 6 ft! Washroom was clean. Hot water available. Towels provided and changed. The food in the Orchid Restaurant is definitely very expensive especially if you are a non-vegetarian. For eg: A bottle of mineral water costs Rs. 55/= as opposed to Rs. 13 in a store just beside the hotel. A cup of yoghurt to go along with the parathas I ordered costed Rs. 55! Naan-35. Veg Dishes-Rs. 150 or more. NonVeg-Rs. 200 or more. Airport pickup service is Rs. 850 one-way. I took a cab from airport that costed me Rs. 710. The reception can also assist you with cab services to and from Mussorie for 1200 The included buffet breakfast was very satisfying.

Hotel Great Value is clearly the best hotel in Dehradun. It was our first trip there and after having checked in, we realised that the standard room was perhaps too small for me and my family that included my wife and two children. I sought an upgrade, promising to pay the difference in amount. The hotel however was sweet enough to provide me a free upgrade to a suite. I was truly delighted with the kind offer. The food was outstanding, my children loved the pizza, which tasted like it was homemade, very cheesy and very tasty. The milkshakes were good. Food prices were reasonable and thanks to the hotel and to MakeMyTrip, we had a memorable holiday. Many thanks.
