Hotel is too cold and dirty

The room had bad smell, furniture & bed. Bath room was in very bad shape. Paint from wall and door were peeled off. Room heater stopped working at the night at 01:00 hrs. There was no hot water supply. We could not sleep due to heater failure & bad smell.

Condition of the bathroom was very bad and unhygienic.

We visited this hotel in December. We got an immersion coil when we asked for hot water, the toilets were stinking. Stayed only for a night and checked out to another hotel. This hotel fits only big groups who just need a bed and those who donÂ’t mind it being dirty.

The hotel condition was not good and the room service was very bad.

On entering the hotel premises and seeing the facade you have a feeling of wow, but as you step in the initial excitement dies down. Though the hotel seems to have been tastefully done up by its late founder who died in 2004 it seems to have been in neglect later. The room we were allotted first was having leaking walls the upholstery seemed to have been cleaned months ago. The washroom was not clean & during the intense cold we were left wanting for hot water in washroom as the same was available only in the morning. Same was the condition in the next room allotted save for leaking wall The elevator was not working properly & we preferred to walk up & down to avoid any misadventures of being trapped in. The food quality is average and priced steeply. Imagine spending Rs.50 for two boiled eggs or Rs.80 for an omelette. Add to it they will charge you 10% extra for room service. This hotel is mostly used by tour operators who need overnight accommodation for their patrons.

I feel booking via net was the problem with the hotel. As the entire payment was given in advance, the hotel was not at all worried about the service. To start with, the so called deluxe room allotted to me initially had paint peeling off from roof and walls and was quite small. I protested and it was changed. However, the changed room was having everything from dead flies to burnt matchsticks on the floor and was cleaned after three reminders. The TV remote was untraceable till I left the hotel. The blower switch did not work and my family had to sleep in thin blankets in chilling winter of Agra. The booking clearly mentioned that we have paid for extra beds for two children but the single extra bed also came after being asked for it (I expected it to be ready before my arrival as the booking was confirmed 4-5 times on phone and I was in continuous touch with the reception while on my way). The wash room of the deluxe room did not have hand towels and shaving kit or shampoo pouch. The only thing provided was soap. The room was not cleaned when I was out for about eight hours on second day of my stay despite the keys being left at reception and the receptionist being requested to get the room made. The towels and bed sheets were changed only when I reminded them on my return. At the end, the hotel does not have a credit card swiping machine. There is a silver lining though; the food was excellent. It was tasty, served hot and the service was also quick. I will not recommend this place to anybody unless the only option left is to go back or sleep on road.

This is the best example of how a very good hotel (Building and space) situated at a very good location can be managed, maintained and can provide service to customers in a worst possible ways. It was like punishment for me to be put up in this hotel for three days. That too punishment not for a small crime but for a really big crime. I hope I will forget this experience soon.

Except location nothing good.

Food is too expensive, staff not friendly, condition of room to improve; only location is good.
