Hotel Broadway Reviews, Srinagar

We stayed in the room nos. 404,405 and 407 in the hotel from 18.6.10(Check-in date) up to 22.06.10(Check-out date). The behaviour of the hotel staff is excellently cordial. But there is something wrong with the management. The card room is non functional due to renovation work as reported. The billiard room remained closed. From 18th to 20th the swimming pool was non functional (for three bright sunny days!) as it was being cleaned. For every amenity missing, there is some excuse no-doubt, all reported to be by the orders from the management. The non vegetarian preparation in this hotel is summarily rubbish. We went to Srinagar to have the Kashmiri taste of chicken and mutton preparations but were totally frustrated by the dishes of this hotel. The cooking team simply does not know the delicacies of non-vegetarian preparations. The cream soup (non vegetarian) ordered on 21.6.10 dinner time was however somewhat tolerable. Comparatively the vegetarian dishes were o.k. One of the Gents water closet in ground floor lobby has a tap which was leaking for all the four days of our stay. The lobby toilet for gents has a non working liquid soap machine but soap cakes were kept in lieu.
