Hotel has a overall worn out look, but the room, bed and toilets were all clean. Everything was properly placed and was in working condition. Hotel Staff was helpful especially Mr. Hari. Food was good only when ordered from the Ala Cart menu because then you get to eat as per your choice. Buffet was a waste of money since there was no variety either for Vegetarian or a Non-Vegetarian. We had a hard time at the dinner table. Anything you ask for would take at around 20 minutes to arrive but they keep telling you 30 minutes as they are short of staff and have only one kitchen. Regarding the quality of food I also got to hear from the reception that the kitchen staff are hired on contract that's why the food isn't that good. Other than that the check in, check out process was all smooth and timely. Hotel staff helped us with ideal visit timings of the sanctuary.

The high point of hotel Bharatpur Ashok is it's location and the low point is the food. The location is inside the jungle but you will need to pay the park entry charges daily (currently Rs 50 per person of Indian origin and Rs 100 for car). The place is quiet and you can hear the chirping of the birds and howling of jackals. The rooms smelt of fresh paint and we had some trouble locking the door from inside. The room size was okay and there was a small balcony with a view towards the jungle. In one of the rooms the bathtub was scratched with brown base revealed. The food in the cafeteria is expensive, oily and better avoided. The menu might look enticing but I never saw the tandoor working in my 2 days stay there. There is no buffet in lunch and no alacarte in the evening. The service is painfully slow. There is a locked book shelf from where you can borrow books to read - they are still searching for a key to open that shelf. Overall a average experience.
