Hotel Ambadi Overview - Thekkady
Ambadi spreads just over 1 acre of land and was started in 1982. It is located on a lane which is flanked by handicraft shops from all over India.

The lobby is an open, rectangular space which can be accessed through a flight of stairs. Intricate woodwork and lots of wood paneling is seen at the lobby and reception. The elongated walk to the wooden reception table is lined with wooden benches on either side, stone walls and tiled flooring.
Rooms
A total of 43 rooms spread over the property in separate cottages. There are 23 Cottage Type Double Rooms which are the base category, 12 Deluxe rooms and 8 Duplexes. All the rooms that are situated on the 1st floor offer balconies and the facilities offered in the rooms are cable television (not in base category but available on request), room service, 24 hours hot & cold running water and housekeeping. The rooms are decently sized spaces with a lot of woodwork and attached washrooms. Some of the washrooms have bathtubs while others enjoy shower spaces. The Duplex rooms are larger with an upper level which consists of the bed and television while the lower level has a seating arrangement.

The Ambadi restaurant is one of the most popular in Thekkady and the food here is delicious with a choice of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes as well as unlimited, traditional Kerala meals. It is an open, airy space with wooden chairs and tables and is connected to the lobby. Stone walls have intricate light fixtures mounted on them and ink on canvas sketches are mounted on the walls. A meal here is really one to savour.
