I managed to grab the monsoon deal going on in Fort Aguada Beach Resort around the end of August. And I must say it was worth every penny I spent. I had managed to zero in on this Taj owned resort after doing a rigorous amount of review reading on internet. This trip was quite an important one for me since post wedding this was my first trip to Goa and it was actually planned to celebrate my wifeÂ’s birthday. The location of the resort itself was fabulous. The check in process was pretty smooth. I had opted for one of the sea view rooms, and it was mind blowing indeed. We checked in at around 4 pm and headed towards the lounge bar facing the sea. A real good place to chillax. The best part was we could utilize all the facilities of Taj Resort, which was a few hundred meters away. And there is a shuttle service between both the resorts running at the customersÂ’ disposal. In the night we headed to Caravela in Taj, where the buffet was so-so. Surprisingly when I expressed my dissatisfaction towards one specific dish, the waiter was so very courteous; requesting me to order any other dish to cool down my taste buds. After 9.30 there was a DJ churning out some commercial bollywood tracks, to my utter dismay. They could probably do with a better DJ. We ended up heading towards Mamboz. Since it was my wifeÂ’s birthday the next day, I had ordered a cake through one of the staff on the day I had checked in. Promptly at 9 in the morning, one of their housekeeping staff knocked on our door and got us a wonderful birthday cake (which was complimentary!). The next day we headed to the private beach, which was not all that great. It could be maintained in a much better way. But the fun factor was not missing. We had a good time exploring every bit of the private beach. All in all, it was an awesome deal. And I am surely looking forward to hit the Fort Aguada Beach Resort again next year!

Absolutely excellent service and beautifully maintained beach resort. It was good value for money especially with the monsoon rates. Being able to use Taj Holiday Village resort facilities made it very worthwhile. Not ideal if you are looking to experience Goa (local restaurants, culture, shopping, etc) as the location, although accessible if you have a car or are willing to spend hefty taxi fare everyday, is quite isolated. Overall, relaxing and feel good experience that left me wanting to come back!

This hotel is another masterpiece from the Taj group. The location of the hotel is excellent, just a few kilometres from the Calangute-Baga beaches. The cottages are capacious and luxurious, providing lovely views of the sea. The food is delicious. But, the hotel lacks in the following points: small lobby, small swimming pool, no steam/sauna, few in-house activities (some activities are organised at tha adjacent Taj Holiday Village, to which the guests have access).
