Deccan Park Resort Reviews, Ooty

The location of the hotel and the approach road leave a lot to be desired. I had my own car and still found it difficult to reach the hotel. It is advertised as near Ooty lake but you don't even get a glimpse of the lake from any of the rooms and the hotel is located in some god forsaken wilderness. The room we had been given had an entire wall which was wet owing to water seepage and the room was extremely damp on account of the same. You are advised to always keep your windows and doors closed as there is menace of flies and moths. So while the room had a decent balcony you will not be able to sit on it because of the flies. Even the dining room had flies and this while they were serving buffet breakfast and dinners. The flies were having a feast :). The hotel only serves vegetarian food and no alcohol in their bar. They shamelessly charge full buffet rates for children, I had a 5 yr old son, and only after pointing it out were they willing to provide a concession. Please avoid.

An excellent resort to stay with family. The service crew are on toes and respond at once. The food is delicious and sumptuous with wide varieties. A silent location with zero pollution of air and noise. Except the presence of flies which i understand is seasonal and nothing to do with the environment.

Hotel was better than expectations. Liked the the calm ambience in Nature and staff were courteous, but not responsive enough for a hotel of its stature.
