The resort with low rise beach front cottages and one 2 storey building, stands on a private 45 acre land along the Sun & Sandy Beach of Mahabalipuram. Mahabalipuram has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site with various historic monuments built between the 7th and the 9th century. The monuments include Hindu temples, sculptures, hand carvings etc. and are within walking distance of the resort.

Chariot Beach Resort consists of 35 deluxe/standard rooms and 36 cottages. Build within the elegantly landscaped greens, the cottages feature a balcony and open sky showers with both twin and king beds. The spacious rooms feature both garden and sea/pool views with twin and queen beds.

Located at an elevation, this beach front resort offers a multicuisine restaurant & 24 hrs coffee shop, well stocked bar, one of the biggest swimming pools along the east coast, ayurvedic treatment centre and rejuvenation facilities. There is a separate kids play area and added along with the resort is an activity centre which has a Tennis court, badminton court, volleyball court, half basketball court and snooker.

Places of interest like Kancheepuram & Pondicherry is about 1 hours drive from the resort. Other nearby attractions include the Muttukadu Boat House, Dakshina Chitra, Crocodile Bank etc.

Chariot Beach Resort is located at Five Rathas Road in Mahabalipuram about 40 km from Chennai, 45 km from the Chennai Airport, 28 km from the Chingleput Railway station, and 1.5 km away from Mahabalipuram Bus Stand. The Mahabalipuram beach is located at one end of the resort.
