Bougainvillaea is located on Hatherly Road in Coonoor. Coonoor is approximately 70 km from the Coimbatore Airport, and 16 km from Ooty.

The Bougainvillaea Mahindra Homestay is run by Prem and Anu Mahbubani, your warm and friendly hosts in this bright and picturesque bungalow. The Mahbubani family live in their own private portion of the extensive property, and the family passion for flowers is what inspired the name of the bungalow. True to its name, 'Bougainvillaea' is surrounded by a riot of colour, sparking and strewn on carpets of emerald green around the house. Over six variants of the colourful leaves of the Bougainvillaea creeper along with a host of other flowering plants compliment the prettiness of the bungalow's facade. The Mahindra Homestay, Bougainvillaea, nestles in quiet splendour against one of Coonoor's many hill sides. A turn off the main road reveals a two storied bungalow, with appealing lemon and white stone railings. The first floor portion of Bougainvillaea is the homestay area. Pause at the front door for your first spectacular view of the majestic ranges of the Western Ghats. Every area of this bungalow reflects comfort, sparkle and space.

The 3 rooms at the wonderful and cheery bungalow, Bougainvillaea, are comfortable and spacious, complete with modern amenities. In-room amenities include: cable television, daily newspaper, mineral water, balcony/sit out, room heater (chargeable), and an attached washroom with hot/cold running water and bathroom toiletries.

Dining
The Mahbubani family is largely vegetarian, and love to socialize with their guests. Do try some of their Sindhi specialties whilst you are there. They recommend a vegetable omelette or Koki - Dahi for breakfast. Some of their lunch / dinner recommendations are Sindhi Kadhi, Sayi Bhaji, Sindhi Pullav and Seyal Bhindi Aloo.
