Asia Health Resorts, Dharamshala

The Asia Health Resort is located on Starawberry Hill, near Dal Lake in Dharamshala Cantonment. The Kangra airport is 20 kilometres away from the resort, railway station at pathankot is 90 kilometres away and he Mec Leodganj bus stop is 4 kilometres away from the hotel. The His Holiness Temple of Dalai Lama is just 5 kilometres away.

As you meander through the narrow roads of the green hills, there is a palatial building nestled in the midst of greenery - the Asia Health Resort. The entrance opens into the lobby cum reception area, a cosy place. Beyond the lobby lies the restaurant with neatly arranged tables and chairs and a buffet table at the far end.

Hotel Facilities
The hotel has a banquet hall that can accommodate 100 - 150 persons and is an ideal venue for parties, seminars and meetings. There is also a games room which houses a pool table, carom board and chess board and is available to the guests at an extra charge. An Ayurvedic Centre is located right next to the swimming pool (the only one in Dharamshala) and offers head, foot and body massages by trained experts. Other facilities in the hotel include generator, safety deposit locker, and internet facility at an extra charge, doctor on call, laundry service, housekeeping service, travel assistance and car rental services.

Room Amenities
The hotel boasts of 24 rooms in total with more under construction. These rooms are divided into 15 Double Rooms, 2 Family Suites, 4 Family Rooms and 3 Twin Rooms. The Double rooms and the Family Suites face the valley, while the Family room faces the road. The Double room is compact with carpeted floors and a polished decor. The room is equipped with a satellite television, telephone, refrigerator, dressing table cum study desk, luggage rack and cupboard and room heater. Two sofa chairs are placed next to the bed with a small coffee table for the guests to have mini meals. A huge window gives a standing view of the overlying valley allowing the sun to pour into the room. There is an attached bathroom with a geyser and a shower area and basic facilities like soap, shampoo and towel. The Family room is a bigger room with two single beds and one double bed. The room has a sofa set as well. The decor and amenities are the same as Double room. The Twin room is also similar to the Double room in terms of size, structure, decor and amenities, the only difference being two single beds located parallel to each other. The Family Suite is like a two bedroom apartment; it has two bedrooms that open into the living room. The living room has a sofa unit, refrigerator and dressing table cum study desk. The bedrooms have a cupboard, sofa chairs, another study table and a luggage rack. There is one bathroom with a geyser, shower area and bathroom amenities like soap, shampoo, towels and toilet paper rolls.

Dining
The restaurant located at the lobby level is known as Reflection. The buffet counter is located at the end of the room. The restaurant offers a prolific menu ranging from Indian, Chinese and Continental to authentic local Himachali cuisines and can accommodate a total of 40 persons. Beyond Reflection lies the Solarium lounge, a stark opposite to the traditional wooden furniture decor of Reflection. The Solarium lounge is an extremely modern and stylish place done up with plush leather sofas, a massage chair, a bar counter and a plasma television fixed on the wall. The outer wall is all glass and this is where the bright sunlight pours in, making this the perfect place to lounge about during the cold chilly winters. The best is yet to come - the lounge has an adjoining terrace with wrought iron chairs are placed under the shadow of trees with wind chimes hanging from different angles. This is a perfect romantic hideout and unless it is experienced, it is hard to believe. The hotel also has the Tavern Bar, a very country style bar with wooden walls, floor and furniture. The walls are full of pictures of visiting guests, notably the Pakistani cricket team and a plasma television. This place too, has an extension - the balcony has been converted into an enclosed seating area with an excellent view of the valley beyond.
