Araku Valley Overview: Hotels in Araku Valley

Araku Valley is a small untouched hill station in Vishakhapatnam in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Surrounded by the Lush green forest, the hill station is best for a day visit. This fast upcoming tourist place is also a good an option for trekking and climbing as the valley is located 292 feet above the sea level. Araku valley with pleasant climate all throughout the year one can also visit during the winter and the valley are also famous for various types of plantation and coffee plantation is famous. The coffee seeds from the plantation is either exported or is used for both domestic and export purpose.

 

The road that lead to the Araku valley through the Ghats are very steep and with many hair pins and both sides of the road are covered there are thick vegetation and the route is extremely beautiful; there are also many tunnels and bridges that makes the place more beautiful. The summer temperature of the place is pleasant though sometimes might be hot and winters are cold as the temperature rapidly falls down during night and the monsoon season brings heavy rainfall due to close proximity to Bay of Bengal. Travellers can visit from September to the month of March. But for those who enjoys rain can visit from July to August but there is always a risk of landslide. The best way to reach the place is by bus or by taxis. The bus service is connected to all the parts of the state and the taxis are easily available in front of the airport and railway station.

 

Places to visit

Though the main purpose for travellers to visit Araku Valley is to enjoy the scenic beauty and it is a weekend gateway from the hustle and bustle of the city; yet there are few places to visit. They are the famous Borra Caves which is located at the distance of 4kms away. It is one of the largest caves in the country which is at the height of 705 m. It was first discovered by William King George in 1807. Then there are Ananthagiri Hills, Bheemunipatnam Beach, Katiki Falls, Padmapuram Gardens and Tyda Park; and apart from that there is Aruku Tribal Meseum.
