The Monarch Hotel Description

A towering white building with touches of maroon, The Monarch is a three star hotel that offers a luxurious stay. Surrounded by wide open spaces, metalled parking lot and lots of greenery, the hotel paints an inviting picture. Everything about the hotel is huge, including the lobby. On entering the hotel, one is spellbound by the size of the main hall. It is a humongous hall spanning the length of the hotel with a ceiling that is two floors high.

A huge lobby area is dotted by sofas arranged at regular intervals, offering ample space for moving around as well as for sitting. A big circular reception counter with a carved golden base stands at one end of the hall while on the other side is Temptations, the gift shop. A travel desk stands between the gift shop and the restaurant, which is an extension of the lobby area. Part of the same hall, it has a lower ceiling as the rooms are located above the restaurant. Likewise, the reception has a lower ceiling too as the rooms are located on either side of the atrium lobby. Guests can enjoy a complete view of the lobby from the two glass lifts at the end of the hall that are used to go up to the rooms.

Rooms
The 63 rooms of the hotel are divided into 51 Queen's rooms, 8 King's rooms and 4 Suites. All rooms are appointed with a large screen television, sofa, study table, tea/coffee maker, refrigerator, room heater and cupboard. The King's rooms and Suites have a dining space on the glass enclosed patio that offers a view of the surrounding area. Washroom amenities are common across categories and comprise a bathtub, liquid soap dispenser, soap, linen, shampoo, bath foam and toilet rolls.

The Suite has a separate living room with an ornate sofa set, large screen television, cordless telephone and refrigerator besides an attached common washroom. In addition to all other amenities, the bedroom has a dressing area with a luggage rack and cupboard with a full length mirror.

Dining
Dining facilities include Hello, the multi cuisine restaurant that serves a buffet spread as well as an a la carte menu for breakfast (7:30 am to 11 am), lunch (12:30 am to 3 pm) and dinner (7:30 pm to 11 pm). Room service is offered round the clock.

Conferences & Banquets
The hotel has two conference halls, the Budget and Ceasar. While the former has a seating capacity of 80 guests in a U-shape arrangement, the latter can accommodate 100 to 120 guests. In a theatre style seating arrangement, Budget can accommodate 150 guests while Ceasar can seat upto 300 guests. Overhead projector and other audio-visual equipment are provided for conferences while LCD screens and high end equipment can be arranged at an additional charge.

Recreational Facilities
For recreation, the hotel offers numerous facilities including a health club, gymnasium, billiards room, beauty parlour, men's salon, steam, sauna, massage room, table tennis, indoor badminton court and indoor games room. While the beauty parlour and men's salon are open from 9 am to 6:30 pm, all other facilities are accessible from 8 am to 8 pm.

Location
The Monarch is conveniently located away from the chaos of the town yet close enough for easy access to all centres of tourist interest. It is just 4 kilometres from the bus stand, railway station and the Botanical Garden. The Lake is just 6 kilometres from the hotel while the Doddabetta peak is 12 kilometres away.
