Operational since the summer of 2007, Hotel Silver Oak is a budget property that offers guests all the comforts required for a memorable stay in the 'Queen of Hills', Ooty. On entering, a compact reception welcomes you with a flight of stairs leading guests to the rooms.

Rooms
The rooms available at the hotel are 33 of which 13 are Deluxe and 6 are Executive. There are also 4 Cottages with two bedrooms each and 2 Cottages with 3 bedrooms each on offer.

The Deluxe and Executive rooms are relatively similar with the differences being that the Executive rooms are carpeted and are slightly larger in size. Both rooms are furnished with double or twin beds with side tables, a seating area, wardrobe and dressing table. In-room facilities common to both room categories are a television, direct dial telephone and running hot water from 6:30 am to 10 am and 7 pm to 9:30 pm in the attached washrooms. If hot water is required besides these timings, the hotel can arrange for the same in buckets.

The Cottages are apartments housed in a building behind the main hotel block and ideal for bigger groups and families. The Cottages comprise a living and dining room, bedrooms with attached washrooms and a kitchenette equipped with a gas stove, utensils and crockery. All the bedrooms have a television.

Room service is available 24 hours in both the rooms and cottages.

Dining & Facilities
Guests at Hotel Silver Oak can enjoy meals at the hotel's restaurant, Samukha's Kitchen that serves vegetarian food multi cuisine food only. The interiors of the restaurant are vibrant in shades of blue, orange and red. The glass wall on one side gives guests a view of Ooty town while they dine. As a service, Samukha's Kitchen serves 'Special Highway Meals', which are essentially packed meals for those who plan to eat while on the road!

Guest facilities available at Hotel Silver Oak include a gift shop at the lobby level, travel desk, in-house laundry, doctor on call and generator power backup. The hotel has a resting room for drivers along with ample car parking.

Located centrally in the heart of Ooty town, Hotel Silver Oak is 2 kms from the main Ooty bus stand and 300 metres from Charring Cross, the town's centre. It is 1 km from the Blue Mountain railway station and walking distance from the Rose Garden.
